Johnna was born and raised in eastern Iowa. She received her bachelor’s degree in Elementary and Special Education from the University of Iowa in 1983. After raising and homeschooling five children, she earned an associate’s degree in Paralegal Studies from Kirkwood Community College in 2009.

Johnna was a legal assistant at another Cedar Rapids firm for 10 years before joining Howes Law Firm in 2019. In her free time, Johnna enjoys following her son’s band and spending time with her grandchildren.
